Q: How many sick days do we earn a year?
A: If you are working 100% or more, you earn 10 leave days a year. Nine of them are Personal Days, and one is a sick day (personal days can be taken as sick days).
Q: Can I be pressured to change a grade?
A: No. The Ed Code is clear — you set the grade.
Q: I interviewed for a transfer position, and someone from out of the district was chosen over me. Is that against the contract?
A: No, if the district followed the rules, then it’s an okay placement. If less than three current members applied for the position, then the district can hire someone from the outside. You have the right to ask why you were not chosen.
Q: My principal reassigned me to a different grade level or class. Can they do that?
A: Yes. Principals have right of assignment and can make those changes.
